Why is there a new requirement with an additional chicken pox booster?

I just found out I have to have an additional Chicken Pox Booster injection. I was just wondering what sparked there to be a new quota of two shots? My sister is completely grown and has had the original injection and has never had a booster. I have never had the chicken pox and dont understant why it is a college requirement.

There has not been a chickpox breakout, though there has been mumps breakouts in the US, even though most children are given MMR vaccines when young.

Problem is that the vaccine's ability to prevent chicken pox is not 100%, and it is possible that you could get chicken pox even though you have been vaccinated earlier in your life. And, if you get chicken pox when older, the problems are more pronounced, hence, it's better to be safe than sorry.
