I haven't been using this card lately. I don't know why there's a payment due when i didn't even buy anything with the card.

  1. First response is correct.  There should be a line item on the bill identifying the particular charge; it might be an annual renewal of something to which you subscribed a while ago.

  2. If you don't use credit cards, you still need to secure and monitor them.  When was the last time you looked at the monthly statement?  This could be some bogus charge that's been there for some time and you didn't notice.

If there's no line item and it's just a balance due, check your previous statements.  If you don't have those statements, contact Discover to find out exactly what the charge is.

  3. They are probably coming up with new schemes and new reasons to take your money.

If you don't handle it quickly, they will add late fees, and penalties etc.  Get on it right away.

  4. As many people have mentioned, you might have an annual charge set up on the account from a service in the past you may not remember.

Discover Card does NOT charge annual fees as a company which is nice.  I would call Discover and they can look into it.

Also know that Discover Card has a $0 Fraud Liability so you are never responsible for unauthorized purchases.  I hope this helps you.

  5. That is a really good question call discover and ask them what going on? it may just be a regular annual  service charge

  6. I know that discover does not have annual fees on any of there cards so that means that one of two things has happened.

    1. Discover is charging you for a fee or service such as payment protection, i.d theft or wallet protection. These fees are like .89/$100 of balance, 12.99 and 2.99.

    2. Some other outside company has charged your card for something whether it is valid or not. Like a reoccurring bill, or auto debit paid to your credit account. What you can do is look at your statement and see what you are being charged for and cancel the card and dispute the charge if necessary. If it is valid then it may need to be canceled with the company to stop future charges.

  7. Contact Discover and ask them about any activity that has happened recently.

If you haven't been using it - you need to let them know so thay can block the account from further abuse.

I suppose there is a small possibility that your card has a yearly fee involved?  They'll charge that fee once a year if the card is open, whether you use it or not.

But either way - you need to contact Discover.

  8. Some credit cards have an "annual fee."  You may be getting a bill to pay that off.  If you have a past balance on the card, you still have to pay for it regardless of how long ago it was.

  9. As others have stated, your best option would be to contact Discover. It could be an annual fee, fraudulent charge, or a minimum finance charge (usually instated after the intro/promotional rate).
