Why is there a stigma that if you never touch a drop of alcohol ever in your life, you're basically doomed?

I don't get it!

Why do you have to drink to 'break into the big, wide world'? Can't we all just have tea parties with apple juice and ride ponies through meadows filled with buttercups and daisies?

I know that it's a social thing, but if you're a person who feels that you don't ever feel like you will need it and can honestly not find one single reason as to why to drink alcohol... why is there this... state of mind (for want of better phrase) that that claim is really dumb?

  1. because our society is obsessed with recklessness and the notion that in order to have a good time you have to be in an altered mental state and do all the things that go against your morals. Its like this stereotype that if a person hasn't lost their virginity be the age of 13 that there's something wrong with them.
