  1. Georgia basically pissed Russia off.

  2. jimmy carter can meiate

he used to be governor of georgia

  3. Because Georgia broke away from the USSR and applied to be part of NATO. Russia is afraid of the ripple effect. That other breakaways will try the same. The ultimate goal of this new Russia is to once again, all be united as 1 great superpower. They will not stand for any interruptions or inconveniences. This could be serious.

  4. WW2 ended and Russia and America were the only super powers left in the world. Russian/American political relations begin to falter as both sides maintained forces in Europe after WW2. Russia fears Western Europe coming after it so it sets up puppet regiemes along its boarder and declares the nations and itself as the USSR. The US and the rest of Wester Europe form NATO. Then the cold war goes on for 50 years until Russia goes bankrupt. The nations Russia had absorbed begin to break off including the nation of Gerogia in the 90's. Well, theres an area along the Russia Gerogian border that is contested, Georgia decides to "liberate" it, so Russia claims its an attack and sends a convoy of tanks to defend it. The Georgian forces blow up the convoy so the Russians fly some planes and blow up the Georgian air defenses, so the Georgians shoot down a couple Russian planes.

Its childish drama, same as in any middle school, only these guys have bigger guns.

  5. omg stupid *** Russia. does it really want to go back to the way it was? PATHETIC!!!! to try to rob a countries independence so Russia could seem just a millimeter bigger on the map...
