Why is there a war in Georgia now?

Anyone knows the main reasons of the Georgia war? How did it started?

ok .. georgians kill the ossetians with russian guns ( AK47, Katyusa etc. ) and Nato ammunation, also they counter attack thu russian jets with stingers  .. they ( georgians ) want the take and keep the control at Tskhinvali area ( south ossetias major city ) cuz they think ossetians are criminal, otherhand ossetians doesn't want to loose control at that area , cuz main petrolium and natural gas pipeline cross from very there. They want the keep pipeline under control, otherhand they ( ossetians ) think georgians are murderer & criminal.

russian army and air&sea forces wants to kill georgians ( guess what? .. yeah .. they think georgians are mass murderer & criminals ) thats why russian forces send the rockets and bombs thu georgia.

Other hand georgians doesn't like the russians .. cuz they think russians are maniacs&criminals, with that reason they kept send bombs thu city of Tskhinvali and head of russian forces. Both sides try to kill each other ( traditionally ) and both sides think someting ( really )  bad about opposite side.

they maybe sign a agreement about stop the war but conflict can still alive.

power and money .. and greed, IMHO this 3 sisters enough for  start the war.

On Friday, Georgian forces shelled South Ossetian population centers and launched a ground invasion deep into the territory. By noon, news reports announced that they had immobilized much of the opposition and had taken control of South Ossetia's capital, Tskhinvali. The city came under attack by aircraft, artillery and armor, and South Ossetia officials claimed that more than 1,000 people had been killed.

Russia's initial response was to convene an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council, hoping to pass a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire between Georgia and South Ossetia.

The Security Council failed to agree on a resolution.

President Dmitri Medvedev appeared on prime-time television to make a chilling call to arms: "I am obligated to defend the life and honor of Russian citizens, wherever they may be," he said. "We will not let those responsible for the death of our people go unpunished."

We are watching the Great Lie from Internet! The reality is that Saakashvili FIRST bombed Tskhinvali on the Day of the Olympian Games! Georgian soldiers SHOT Russian Peace-making armies, peaceful population FIRST and only AFTER this Russia moved army to prevent further destruction. Remember Kosovo, and the US position in that case!

If you understand the reality, that means your have a free mind.

It's a territorial dispute.  Russia wants to regain control of its former satellite.  Georgia wants sovereignty.  

Good ol classic warfare.  And if you ask me, US should get involved and blow Russia to bits like old times and finally put to use all that 21st century military equipment.
