Why is there always someone trying to predict dooms day?

Why are humans in such a hurry to die instead of just enjoying life that they have been given?

Could it be the death instinct Thanatos?

As if we do not have enough problems on this planet.There is always someone who has the need to cause panic in depressed children and giving them an excuse to commit suicide thinking "why should we live when we will surely die in a few years.I might as well die now"

I think most people are just enjoying life.  It's just that the few nuts get more attention.

It attracts attention for the person making the prediction. You never see anyone out with a sign screaming "The World Continues."
