i have an albino clawed frog. i got him three months ago. he's kept in a 1 gallon tank by himself. it has an above-gravel water filter and a wooden air stone under some gravel. i feed him tadpole and frog pellets. today i noticed this mass of white, clearish, foamy stuff near where the air from the air stone comes out. is this from not keeping the tank clean enough, or is he a she and those are eggs, or what? any info is appreciated.

(i know he's not technicly a fish, but this was as close as i could get. hehe)

  1. i agree with mrkegs.

  2. bacteria, you are over feeding the tank with food. do a partial water change like twenty percent and you should be fine. the smaller the tank the harder it is to keep the water clean. change 20% of the water about once a week.

  3. I think I have this same tank and mine does this too...I don't exactly what it is from But I can tell you it's not eggs.

I also think you need a bigger aquarium this tank is not really suitable for any living creature, except for maybe some juveniles. I put my juvie bettas in their until they were big enough to go into my community tanks!
