Why is there minimal rugby coverage in the US? what can be done to change it?

  1. Because it makes American footballers look like a bunch of Sissy's.!


  2. Americans cannot deal with non stop action and minimal commercial breaks.  Look at the popular sports.  Tons of breaks.

It isn't that americans can't deal with non-stop action.  First, rugby isn't that popular here.  Second, American TV revolves around advertising sales.  So rugby then has two strikes against it.  It isn't that popular and with the nonstop action, it isn't as easy to jam in lots of commercials.

    USA Rugby is partially to blame by focusing more on teams at the 'elite' level, rather than trying to build interest in grassroots rugby.  It would be like Germany trying to build up american football by starting a bunch of NFL type of teams.  In reality you need to get kids interested in it first.

  5. not nearly enough people interested to justify playing games. i agree that the high power advertising execs would not like playing rugby a lot.
