Question:

Why is there no diversity at the RNC like there was at the DNC?

I've watched both conventions and I noticed one huge difference...diversity.

At the DNC, there were all kinds of people from different walks of life all joined together for a common cause. They were laughing, singing, and genuinely enjoying each others company.

While watching the RNC, everyone there pretty much looked alike, no diversity with the exception of a 'sprinkle' here and there while panning the crowd. People were pretty much stoic as well, they sat there comatose pretty much. The only sign of life I saw was when someone made a point in a speech, then there was movement.

Why the huge disparity between the parties? And why does it seem that one represents the blueprint of America and the other doesn't?

Thoughts?

  1. Because there is a small amount of blacks in the party. More vote but do not want to associated with the republican party because they will be called uncle tom sell outs.

  2. To be a card carrying Republican you must agree with everything that the top of the Ticket does and it helps if you look just like everyone else.

  3. Probably because the Democratic Party has hoodwinked the Black race while at the same time using social programs to keep them in poverty.  Black Republicans recognize this and align themselves with a party that doesn't treat Blacks as victims of society.

  4. I agree that diversity is not just black people.  What a bunch of racist comments by people.  They act as if diversity is a bad thing.

There are very few people of color, women and young people at the RNC.

It probably has to do with the process for becoming a delegate in the parties.  I don't know what the republican process is, but in the democratic party delegates run for the opportunity to go to the National Convention.   Democrats were very fired up and record numbers came to local and state conventions this year, while republican primary turnout was poor.

The republicans clearly aren't winning the youth.

  5. It's obvious.

The Republican party is not a welcoming party for people of diversity.  Who would want to support a party who doesn't support you?  Who would support a party who cuts programs to help the people in need, and signs bills to help those who are well off become richer?

Notice Bush wasn't there.  No doubt McCain and his cheerleader running mate, begged him to stay away.  With his 30% approval rating, he didn't even speak in prime time!  This is the President!!  They want to distance themselves from him because they know the party is a total disaster.

Threre are only 36 African American Delegates there.  A huge drop from '04.  I have no idea what number of delegates there are among Asian Americans, or Hispanic Americans. No doubt, it's very low.

Americans want to be heard and represented.  All Americans.  The Republicans, don't really care about diversity.  They care about big business and believe me, war is big business.  Just ask Cheney.  He's made a boatload of $.  Anybody got any Blackwater stock?

  6. It was scary.  I would not want to be part of that America.

Because they do not want to get lynched.

  7. The democrats were excited because they'd never been in an Arena before.

  8. Republicans don't give away free money.

  9. I noticed that too. At the DNC, there is even a trivia on what percentage the Delegates are composed of such as Asians/Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, Black, g**s, etc.

  10. I wonder if your a Democrat or not?  I find myself to lean more towards Republican.  I am white (has nothing to do with anything), and I frankly find political candidates on both sides to be sad and disturbing.

Politics isn't that fun, so maybe they were drinking more at the DNC, it would sure spice things up a bit.

  11. I absolutely LOVED the diversity at the DNC-you're right, it wasn't there at RNC. Instead, it was a room mostly full of old white Republican thinkers who are terrified of change.  That's why they were so stiff, and as you put it, comatose.  They made me sick.

  12. Gosh, what black man or woman wouldn't want to show up and enjoy being labled an Uncle Tom or Pawn of the Rethuglican Party?

  13. I see people.  You see categories.

  14. The Republican convention represented "White America" while the Democratic convention represented "All of America".

And frankly, people (other than whites) are afraid of White America. Who wants to be apart of something that only praises themselves?

The Democratic convention had so much diversity. Not just that, they were actually enjoying themselves there. Compare that to the crowd at the Republican convention...
