Why is there no football in the Olympics?

It's only the most popular sport in America. In Europe it isn't as big but it's still a pretty popular sport. They have basketball, why can't they have a good sport like football?

Only american's play football and then in Europe and south america and mexico... soccer is called futbol (mexico/south america) or football (europe) so it's called football but it's not the same thing :)

Because there is not enough interest in other nations to be able to have a good football competition.

There would probably be only the US, Canada, and maybe Great Britain...a lot more nations need to be invovled before it can be put into consideration as an Olympic sport.

Because the the Americans would slaughter the competition. USA versus Moldova doesn't look too competitive.

There are a lot of football games. In the olympics it is called soccer. If you mean American football then I think you need to wake up a little bit.

in order to be in the olympics, a sport has to have global popularity. football is only popular in the US.

Because its only this Popular in America most of the other country's watch soccer like we watch football!!! I asked the same question to a friend the other day makes since a lot of country's have really good Soccer teams
