  1. There is gravity in space, it's just that the effects of gravity are relative to the mass and body being influenced

    a human being doesn't have enough mass in outer space to be greatly influenced by the gravity of the sun, on Earth the centrifugal force of the Earth creates the gravity that influences here....

    One way to think about gravity in a spaceship is to think about cannon balls.  If you fire a cannon ball so that it travels parallel to the ground, it goes for a ways until gravity and friction from the air pull it back to earth.  The more gunpowder you put in the cannon, the faster and farther the cannonball will go before gravity can pull it down.  So if you fire a cannonball straight over the ground going fast enough, one can imagine that it would keep going, straight over the ground, all the way around the world--gravity would be pulling it down, but at the speed it's going, it would only be pulled along the curvature of the earth.  This wouldn't work very well on earth because air resistance would slow it down.  In space, an object can go into orbit, so that it does this very thing:  it's going fast enough so that it actually falls in a circle around the earth and just keeps falling in a circle, but doesn't noticeably slow down because there's no air to slow it.  This is what the planets are doing when they orbit the sun.  That's why you sometimes here zero gravity refered to as "Freefall."  It's an endless falling around an object, but you never actually land because you're going just fast enough to keep yourself from coming closer to it, and not fast enough to move away from it.

    Weight is proportional to the quantity (g - a), where g is gravity and a is acceleration (both vector quantities).  That means you can be weightless as long as g = a, meaning your acceleration exactly matches gravity.  That's precisely what happens in an orbit.

    it is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the body.

    meaning, say if u increase the distance from a planet, say earth, by about 2 meters, the gravitational force will 1/4 th of the original value.

    so if u go on increasing the distace from any outer space body like, planet, satellites, stars, the gravitational force goes on decreasing by the square of the increase in distance.

    hence, there is gravity in outer space, but it is too small to be felt by the bodies with small mass ( like human bodies and even the masses of the space ships)

    but as there is gravity in space, the bodies with large masses like earth and moon are experiencing the gravitational force and thus revolves around the star and planets.
