Why is there no influential 3rd party?

Who wants to round up the leadership of the Democratic and Republican parties to execute them for treason against the American people?

Both parties are infringing upon our Constitutional rights, and there is very little to distinguish one party from the other. Why cannot the Libertarian Party, the Constitution Party, or another party gain momentum?

Why are all presidential elections between Republicans and Democrats?

As an American Why is your only choice between c**p and p**p?

  1. The 4th estate is OWNED by GREED INC.

does that provide a clue at all?

Yes I would advocate the prosecution of both mainstream parties for TREASON, but not capital punishment.

For a start though, Cheney and his sick side-kick Bush need to be held accountable for their actions.

  2. There is one minor party I can think of which has run candidates for President and Vice President since the 1920s. One man headed up their ticket on seven occasions and never got a single electoral college vote. But, with the exception of two planks, the entire party's platform from 1928 is the law of the land today. That party is the Socialist Party and the man was Norman Thomas. He has a high school named for him in New York City and his grandson is the deputy editor of Newsweek magazine. That's not a bad record for a party which never elected a President but had an enormous impact on American life.

As for your accusations of treason, that is the only crime which is identified in the Constitution. And the actions of the two major parties and their leaders don't meet the requirements of that crime.

  3. No money !

    No corporate sponsor !

  4. The US is a big country, geographically and in the number of people.  Due to the Electoral College, a candidate needs BROAD national support to get enough EC votes to have a shot at winning.

However if there was no EC, a third (fourth, fifth) could make a (or a few) corners of the country for themselves by pandering their positions just for those areas.  After several elections, we could see all the areas of the country having their very own political parties.  But then, we could have a President without support across the nation.

It's a damned if we do, damned if we don't kinda situation.

  5. Well, first off, I don't think it is either parties fault that a third party can't get noticed.  I think you are a little radical about the punishment.  The only way a third party can ever get momentum in my opinion is for a recognized moderate from one party or the other to jump ship and run as something else, say, the Moderate Party.  There are enough moderates that are sick of left and right, to make a difference.  By moderate, I mean someone that Will break these useless party lines and vote their own conscience.  I am sure there are some Democrats that are pro life and some Republicans that don't really care if g*y marriage is legal or not.
