Why is there no public transportation in the rural area?

Why not a bus for the more populated small towns, and at least a taxi for areas where the houses are far apart?

There are lots of small town people who cannot afford cars, and need to get around just as much as urban people. And not everyone can get a ride from someone else.

  1. Cost too much.  (Lived in country all my life & had to depend on auto.  No subway, trains nothing like that around.)

  2. We used to have public transportation here but the city closed it down saying there wasn't enough demand for it. Now with the gas prices as they are, they say they can't affford to bring it back...

    at least I am getting my exercise in this freaking heat!

    well at least thats wut they think, public transportation is kinda necessary in rural areas.
