Why is there no straight tracks in Nascar like in NRHA?

NASCAR uses the dragstrip at Infineon Raceway (Sonoma) as the straightway.

Drag racing is totally different from round track.

1)  It would not be Nascar/stock car racing (hence the name)--it would be drag racing.

2)  Nascar would loose most of its fans and probably most of its drivers.

3)  How would the cars continue for 500 miles if the track was straight for 2 miles.  Would there be a cul-de-sac at the end for them to turn around?  No, I am serious--mechanically this makes no sense.

4)  That is just an absolutely, ridiculous and absurd idea.

Please! That would be boring. The cars would have really no good oppertunaties top pass. Many if not half the drivers in Nascar usually pass in turns. Plus the cars...no. They just can't do that. Ratings would drop like a rock if this was to happen. Just think. That is like asking, Why don't they have oval tracks in NRHA.

Who wants to watch 500 miles of straightaway? The strongest car would always win. Whoever got the pole would easily win the race. Handling would never come into play. Drag racing is stupid. There would be no passing.

do u kno what the **** NASCAR is. Sprint is a mobile company. ITs doesnt mean they do drag strips. Do some research bfore asking

Because then it would be impossible to lap the last car. And it would also be impossible to use the same pit crew. That is the reason why there are no straight tracks in NASCAR like in the NHRA.
