  1. The Pros is that the NEA controls the education with the left wing liberal bias Democrat lobby.

The Cons is that everybody gets a crummy education.

  2. Well, truth be told, there are THOUSANDS of public education systems in the United States.  All of them seem to be pretty well different.  The only thing that the Department of Education really does is set guidelines and standards that are passed through the legislature for approval.  The Thousands of school systems must adhere to these standards as they are Federal Mandations.

  3. It can be used as a tool to dumb down the U.S.. Hmm...

  4. There are really many.  Each state is different and within the state, each school district is different.  One of the cons of California's system is that the state takes in the money then distributes it to the districts.  The truancy problem is not adequately enforced and too many students come in and out of school, back and forth to Mexico.  The students pass to the next grade, regardless of scores, all the way through middle school unless their parents want them held back.  Only in high school do they actually start "failing" classes.  By then, it's often too late.

  7. Holy smoke, how many do you think we ought to have?

They waste trillions of our tax dollars on it every year and our children are sitting in there learning about s*x and Islam.

Take your children out of the public screwel system!

  8. What?  That isn't true.  Each state has different standards for teaching, each district has their own agenda.  Some districts are strict on the in classroom type of work, others allow a great deal of homeschooling.  Some states are even teaching using online classes.

There are some funds that are given to states and districts who comply with federal guidelines, but some districts :(including my own) give up those funds if they don't agree with the guidelines. I could go on, but let's suffice it to say that there are many different educational systems in this country, not just one.

  9. b/c the government has a monopoly on it -- the public school system is more dangerous than terrorists -- it's been dumbing down generations to where we have a whole bunch of liberal idiots running around

  10. Socialism 101.
