  1. In australia nrl is actually rugby league and australian rules is a seperate game mainly played in victoria australia, which is also not rugby. Australias top teams play in the super 14 which includes teams from New Zealand and South Africa as well. That is the PROPER rugby.

  2. Union, Leage and Touch. but they r all dif kind of sports really. Aussie rulez.hm...dunno:) haha.

  3. there is only union, league, tag and touch rugby. the nrl is actually rugby league like in england there is the super league (theyre the same thing). the aussie rules are the same.

  4. Aussie rules is a hybrid sport of Gaelic Football and rugby as austrailia was originally a prison sorta place and lots of Irish got sent there. Other then that theres Union and League. 7's is played to add a faster aspect to the game. Heinikin Cup is the European Cup (like the champions league in soccer) and the european challenge cup is for weaker european club sides (like the euefa cup in soccer) In union each country has its own domestic leagues consisting of amature, semi-pro and pro teams (although the pro teams don't get paid alot). then theres bigger leagues which are all-pro (top earner in ireland Brian O'Driscoll 500k P/A), magners/celtic league consists of the major teams from Ireland Scotland and Wales, Gunniess premiership in England, Super 14 in Austrailia, S.Africa and N.Zealand. I don't really know much about the structure of rugby league 'cos its stupid and g*y. Why bother go into such detail? I have  no idea just bored out of my mind.

  5. Australian Rules is not rugby at all, it is a unique game which by far the most popular sport in Australia (but not quite as popular as rugby in Queensland and most of New South Wales).

As for rugby, there are two types: Rugby Union (see Super 14, Tri-Nations and Six Nations) and Rugby League (see NRL - National Rugby League). In Australia, Rugby League more popular than Rugby Union (but not played at all outside Queensland and New South Wales). However, Rugby League is barely played outside Australia at all, the only exception being in the north of England where the English Super League is based. Rubgy Union is extremely popular in South Africa, The United Kingdom, (northern) Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands (Fiji, Samoa etc.) and somewhat supported in Argentina and mainland Europe (France, Italy). France is hosting the next Rugby (Union) world cup with some games also being hosted by Wales and Scotland.

  6. I disagree with Striker - league isn't more popular than union in Australia, in fact I'd say it was the other way around.....

  7. there are only two kinds, league and union. Aussie rules is not a rugby game. but it is still fun to watch
