  1. hi,

i think the power goes to their heads! They have to be certain types of people to survive at that altitude and having just been promoted myself i can say for sure im not going to survive - im suffocating already!! The pressure gets too much and you either take it out on others or go crazy like i am and resign!!

no buts here only this one - i wish i hadnt been promoted!! I can see arses all around me!!

  2. They go power crazy.

  3. they are scared and insecure.  they are afraid they can't do the job and that everyone will find out.  i was a director at a daycare who worked her way up from teacher status.  and i always tried to remember that any one of those teachers could take my job one day.  AND that i couldn't open the doors every morning without them.  kept me humble and in my place (most of the time).

  4. Their lack of experience. They are peons in a business then they get power and they don't know how to behave. The forget what its like to be a peon. They will eventually mellow out and see its easier to manage people without the people resenting them.

  5. Problems from their childhood usually.

Kids with Parents who are elitist pushing their offspring to believe they are better than everyone else.

Kids from deprived backgrounds who WANT to prove they are better

Kids who were bullied and trying to get their own back

  6. I think that's generalising. It takes a certain kind of person to turn into a tw*t over a promotion.

Sometimes people are jealous of those who get promoted and perceive them to be different out of jealousy...but I do agree some people change completely and then I guess it would be the boss who gave them the promotion in the first place who would be to blame for not realsing that a promotion would turn them into a k**b.

  7. Lol, Well I think someone who has earned a degree to work as a manager in a high paying and high profile industry has the right to a little cockyness.

BUT I know 16 year old shift managers. They work at McDonalds. :P

I guess what I am saying is not everyone deserves to be able to become prideful of their position, but c**p if they worked for it, maybe they deserve to be a little cocky ;)

  8. Certain types of personalities are drawn to certain occupations... That's why you'll never see a mean kindergarden teacher or a fat trainer. Your typical "type A" personality is the type that wants to move up the corporate ladder as fast as they can and doesn't care who they hurt to get there. Once they move up, it feeds their ego and they feel more important than everyone else. So, they end up treating everyone else as their subordinates... and well, just less than them. Human nature I guess.

  9. Usually in industries where line employees are simply "promoted" to managerial positions without formal training, they are put into a position that they haven't been properly prepared for by another person who had the same thing happen to them. So it's a diluted version of what the company had originally envisioned their management staff to look like.

    Anyways, lack of training.

  10. Perhaps it's because you need to be something special and have attitude to be promoted to a managerial position.  As the song goes:

    The working class

    Can kiss my ****

I've got the foreman's job at last.

  11. perhaps you are jealous as you haven't been promoted to a managerial role within your company, and ill have you know i work for nhs and I'm head of training and development/Nursing and I'm 26 and earn £73,000 a year, i deserve to have an attitude as i am a manger and we/I work hard for our money to pay our mortgages.

Your a jealous B***** you have obviously had a disagreement with a manger that's why your bringing up this point may i suggest you take up a course in Management and get the necessary qualifications in order to get a promotion!

  12. I could be wrong of course BUT do I detect a bit of jealousy because someone else got promotion and not you.

Promotion comes to those who work hard and are good at their job, so if you don't like it either fight for your own promotion or stop your childish whingeing.

  13. If they suddenly change their attitudes, this is their real self. Because they are in higher position, they feel that they have more power and to push people around as they like.

But this will eventually make other people hate them so they have more enemy to deal with haha.

  14. When the body was first created, all the body parts wanted to be the supervisor. The brain said it should supervise as it controlled all the body. The eyes claimed that without them the body could do nothing. The heart claimed that without the body would die. So it went on with all parts stacking their claim. Eventually the bum chipped in with its own claim. How ll the other parts laughed and derided the bum who got so mad it went on strike. After a few days the brain grew feverish, the heart palpitated and the eyes went blurred, all the body parts were affected. Eventually they all pleaded with the brain to allow the bum to be the supervisor. The brain had no choice but to relent and allow this to happen.

The Moral - you don't need to be clever to be a supervisor, just a bum who passes a load of c**p!
