  1. i am a weegie and proud and dont hate no one except people that hate me!

  2. I have not felt that there is hate between Glaswegians and Edinburgh folk.  I have no predjudice at all.  I am from Glasgow and I dont mind being called a weedgie.  I am one.  I think its the type of people who feel that there is hate between the cities.  You know the ones I mean dont you.

  3. it's a myth created by the english. ignore those fools

  4. between edinburgh and glasgow its not actually that bad. It's mostly more in a joking way. Folk from glasgow think we're all posh and folk from edinburgh think they are all a bunch of scaffs. Most Hatred is usually linked to football if it's within scotland, whereas if it's scots to english then its because we all think they are a bunch of tossers to put it politely.

  5. well they are weigiesI  Lol, there's always hatred between rivals but come up here, Aberdeen hatred for Glasgow, esp. Rangers is insane- it's mutual though.  I love being called a sheep shagger, ahem.

  6. I've never really came across it that much. You do get the odd one or two but it's said more in jest than with pure bitter hatred. After all, we are all still Scots so we should all get along just fine!

  7. lol because the Edinbuggers are just jealous that us weegies are soooo awesome!!!

the rivalry has always been there, but i have friends from Edinburgh they can't help where they were born ;) the hate isn't really hate, hate its just for the banter!

and no we don't really hate the weegie thing

  8. Glasgow is predominantly Industrial Working Class and unfortunately for them most of the industry has closed or moved elsewhere. This had led to a loss of identity, a reason for being, as a good slice of the city lives on State funds. That has caused an aggressive attitude to those better placed in Society, and the nearest place that has faired better

is Edinburgh. Edinburgh just reacts to this (mostly verbal but intense) aggression by dismissing the Wedgies as ignorant fools. Second in line for aggression are the English mostly because they are prosperous and very tolerant of all peoples (from running a huge Empire.) The English do not reciprocate which annoys the Wedgies no end. There is very little anti-English feeling in Edinburgh, and there is a strong international dimension to Edinburgh (as witnessed during

the annual Festival when most of London's arts community decamps to Edinburgh.)

  9. I always thought that the stereotype was that if a the Scots weren't fighting the English, then they'd settle for fighting each other. No matter which city they came from.

  10. i dont hate being called a weedgie :p

and i dont hate edinburgh people tho altho there is a bit of a thing about how theyre all posh and we're all scaffs

i'd rather be a scaff than a snob tho

just to add i also dont hate the english which is another thing people always seem to think:p
