I have a feeling it's because it's more natural to hate than love for many and because when many people have one bad experience they blame it on the world, hateing everything.

Diversity.

As long as people can think different ways about the same thing, or do things differently, act differently, worship differently, or LOOK differently, there will be conflict, and conflict plus emotions equals hatered.

Unfortunately, the cure is worse than the disease.  Just ask anybody who's watched the fictional exemplification of the unltimate internally hatred-free society:  Star Trek's BORG.
