  1. Remember that although Santoro wasn't a seed he still is a great player who has mixed it with best in tennis.  Murray is hyped so much cos he is British(while hes winning),  and as someone else said,  he is one of the few to have beaten Federer,  he's beaten Roddick a couple of times.  So he has gotta have some skill,

  2. Because of the fact that he is British no.1 and he keeps the British dream alive to win Wimbledon.

  3. The UK is totally useless at all sports despite having an enormous population and billions given to parasites like Sebastian Coe to promote it.   We are known as good losers and that is all we are.

  4. Britain is desperate for a champion!!!

  5. Murray is talented beyond belief. He's one of the few players to have beaten Federer and may well win a Grandslam event in the next few years.

Remember that smash he played after running to the back of the court? He had his back to the court, leapt up and just wacked the ball for a clean winner.

He has got a skill not many players have. Now he must learn to become an athlete to match Nadal or Federer.

Santoro is one of the best hackers the world has ever seen. That is why it looked like Murray struggled. In truth, Fabrice is very, very difficult to put away. He is up there with the likes of Michael Chang for ability to run balls down.

I have talked about this in more detail in my podcast:-

  6. a straight sets win against a very unorthodoxed player wasn't a struggle.

the only part of his game that wasn't upto scratch was close to the net but that will come as his timing on grass comes back.

  7. because hes birtish lol and they want him to win but he will never win! hes just like a younger version of timmy!

  8. He might not be a world champion, but he's the best Britain has to offer, so the media has to hype him up for the sake of morale.  Just as they did for Henman and as they do for English football, rugby and cricket teams.

  9. Same reason there was hype over Tim 'spoilt b*****d' Henman every bloody year. We the British pin our hopes on anyone we can in sports where we think we have a chance.

And as per usual, Murray is pitched against poor grass court players to get him through the first rounds (as coincidentally happened to Henman every year).

And even more interestingly, this is Murray, who last year was openly saying 'I'm not British, I'm Scottish', the arrogant little b*****d.

Strangely enough this year when he wants some support & is flogging his book, it was all a mistake & he's now proud to represent Great Britain.

What happened to the Brit who turned up a few years ago, no sponsorship, support or rich parents, and got through two or three rounds?
