Why is there so much smoke in the air in terrebonne oregon?

here in northern california we've had a LOT of fires that are still going on. the smoke could be blowing up north.

Most likely because of the California fires going on right now.

Last weekend, a dry lightning storm started nearly 1,000 fires in the Northern California area.   Over the past week, our firefighters have been battling the largest ones, (around 25-30 major fires out of those 1000 started).   As of yesterday, over 200,000 acres have been burnt.

I noticed today in Sacramento, Ca, that the skies are much clearer than the past week.  I suspect this is because the wind has finally picked up, and is probably bringing the smoke your way.
