because Iran has openly stated they will use all means within their power to destroy other countries...

pretty much nuff said.. if you tell me that you are going to use all means within your power to destroy someone.. it is then up to me to insure you don't get a weapon big enough to hurt the entire globe.

Because they want to invade Iran and are looking for an excuse (see 'Saddam has WMDs and we must invade')

I seem to recall North Korea actually TESTING a nuclear missile not so long ago... but they turned a blind eye to that one didn't they??

Of course there is a huge problem. They are not a democracy and so might decide to invade other countries at a whim, or maybe to get more oil rights,  and maybe, given that they possess such muscle, blanket bomb its innocent civillians, or maybe even use cluster bombs on villages full of women and children,God forbid. long live democracy.?

Hi there.

Iran is being given the capability for money, they are not a developed enough society to create them on their own - this is risky. Mostly though, they have sworn the destruction of Israel and the death of every Jewish person therein, making them entirely dodgy as holders of such power. UK and USA have not sworn any such thing and ill-advised as recent adventures have been, they have been in response to trouble not to cause it.

Apart from these reasons, no problem.

Because the US and Brittan are not boasting about decimating a society and country. No one in the world would allow the Iranians or others like them have those weapons if they were in a position to stop them. Fact is the US and Brittan are probably the only 2 that are capable and willing to do so. The world wide opinion may be negative in the news papers but in reality the whole world is glad the US and Brittan have the bal-s to address these types of problems forthwith and decisively. It should be readily apparent to all anti defense libs that a strong military is more than necessary it is imperative just to keep these type of situations thruout the world in hand. What would the world be like without the USA and Great Brittan? Give that question some thought.

Because Iran does not recognise Israel, or its right to exist, and may use nuclear technology against them.

It is if course, a well known and believed fact, that Israel already has nuclear technology, not for energy use, and was assisted in gaining it by the USA.

The fact that effectively the USA and Israel already have the technology and would probably use against other powers in the middle east,  is of course, never discussed.  

From this point of view, one can see why the issue of Saddam Hussein having a nuclear capacity was so significant.

From the point of view of many in the Middle East, it is clear that the USA uses Israel to gain effect in the area, and that Israel exploits the power of the USA for its own ends. Sadly, Barack Obama has recently joined this mutually appreciative grouping.

Because the people who run Iran are quite clearly nuts and they would not only use conventional weapons to attack but probably nuclear weapons.

Why on earth would you trust the word of a country when Ali Shirazi, a cleric working as representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the naval unit of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, says "The Iranian nation is a nation of believers which believes in jihad and martyrdom. No army in the world can confront it."

I mean, they are complete total raving lunatics and are just stark starring bonkers - you CAN NOT allow these type of people to gain nuclear capabilities and just trust that they will just use it to generate power and not towards nuclear weapons!
