  1. Sometimes religion or how much information, misinformed, and our own interpretation of a subject, would put some negative impact and what would actually be beneficial. If we are to do a survey of how much an individual knows about stem cell, and what it is, this might solve one of the problem.

  2. http://www.allaboutpopularissues.org/pro...

  3. Like so many other things, it is Religion that is standing in the way of the way of progress.

  4. The people who are against stem cell research are the same goof balls who think God him or herself will strike them dead in their tracks for so much as believing in science. They're the same ones who think all stem cells are babies who have been ripped from a mothers womb when nothing can be further from the truth, but either way they have this absurd notion that all human tissue is somehow ordained by God to never be messed with in any way. It's OK though to bomb the living c**p out of mothers and babies in another country if they don't like their governments policies.

Actually I think it really has to do with the fact that they haven't yet figured out a way to get their greedy mitts in the big stem cell cookie jar of profit. Once they find that lid they will all change their toon's real quick. Put some money in it for them and all of a sudden stem cell research will be the greatest thing since sliced bread in their minds. Just you watch.

  5. because people are dumb.

stem cell research is such a good thing,

and really it doesn't hurt anyone.

People should not resist it because one day it could really benefit it us all.

  6. There is no resistance to stem cell research. As with any area that's wide open, there's argument about what directions are most promising when there's a scramble on for research funding.

  7. Some people believe that life begins at conception so to use stem cells for research means for them that you are killing a life.  This is why there are some people who resist using that as a research option even though the results could benefit so many.

There are big debates on both sides just like any big social issue like prolife or womens choice.  I've included a link to the NIH Stem Cell Information.  It gives lots of infromation on Stem cell research and federal policy on it in case you're interested in reading up on it.

Also included another link to The Center for Bioethics for Human Dignity.  That gives the other side to the story so you can compare the two view points.  Its a very interesting subject to say the least.

  8. There is no resistance to stem cell research.  There is resistance to using some of the sources of stem cells that are considered to be human life.  Stem cell researchers do not need to use discarded embryos because as you stated there are other sources available such as umbilical cords.

  9. hmm.. i don't think there is resistance. is there? it's a new science so maybe it needs time to evolve and spread across the nations.
