Why is this magnesium citrate not working?

ok so I am having surgery in the morning and my doctor told me that if I drank some magnesium citrate that it would help the surgery. It has yet to make me use the bathroom. I have drank 7 fl. oz of it already. I started drinking it at 3. Is this ok?

I was supposed to drink that before a scope, and was told to eat a clear fluid diet for 2 days prior and drink plenty of water...

Keep drinking water & exercise. Getting the body moving helps the bowels work better. Be physically active in some way- that ought to help.

have you been drinking a lot of water along with the mag citrate?  if not, that is why it is taking a long time to work.  surprized your doctor didn't tell you that too.
