Why is this so, Ear pierced Stretching??

Question

So my friend stretched his lobes from 8mm to 18mm in one foul swoop about a month ago.

Now last night we were chilling out having a few beers and i asked him how thin the bottom of the lobe was when he takes them out and he tells me he never has taken them out!!!! Now in hindsight i probably should not have done this but i told him to take them out so i can see. And JESUS CHRIST! he did and instantly i almost died the rotten mouldy cheese / rotting corpse smell that instantly filled the room was so powerfull one of my mates threw up straight away then the build up of scum on the tunnel itself was something so rotten no one in the world could look at it without fighting off a major spew!!

my god, what a horrific experience. okay, so i am a fan of piercings myself. i have a lot, but i dont do the stretch thing that you mention here, see i think and believe that it is ugly. and people can use your ear to see whats infront/behind them its just plain stupid, no offense to yuor friend.

so, the fould smell that made you 'almost died' comes from the wounds and the skin. the pierce is after all a wound, and germs and bacteria gather on wounds. tell your friend to wash them everyday with water and soap. and to clean with alcohol. it isnt painful. it actually feels great, okay, at least for me. and he may want to drink amoxyxillin or any antibiotics to make the wound heal faster. :)

ewww. it happens with just about every piercing. if you don't take care of it.

rub rubbing alcohol on it every morning. and, gross. thats just gross. ewww.

It comes from not cleaning your tunnels often enough. Depending on the material of your tunnel the build can be a lot better, or a lot worse than other materials.

The 'scum' you've mentioned is a mixture of sweat and dead skin cells, and builds up in any piercing, but expanded ears generally have a larger jewelery to skin ratio than other piercings, therefore a bigger build up can be expected.

And to the person who claimed ear stretching is 'stupid' please go out and do a little research. Ther are a few African tribes who stretch their ears to indicate rank and marriage, just like you would wear a badge or a wedding ring. Also, what makes ear stretching any differnt from getting a tattoo or another piercing? It's just a matter of opinion.
