Why is this world so sexist to women?

i mean seriously, it hurts sometimes to hear something sexist told to you!

yeah, unfortunately it's been this way since the very beginning. just look at the bible. it puts down women in every way imaginable. i think it was written by men, because they were jealous of women. they worded it where women were to be submissive to men. just wrong in my opinion.

of course, this society can be sexist to men in certain ways.

by the way, i was stronger than most men in my ROTC class 'cause i could do more pushups than them.

The people who are offended by sexism are even more pathetic and insecure than the one's who are sexist.... If you know they;re biggots, why do you believe everything they say?

It depends on your definition of sexist and what exactly is said that offends you. Some women are offended by men who say they want their wife or "woman" to stay home and take care of the home and children. I however am not offended by this, I am offended when men make crude remarks that degrade women and especially in countries other than America where women are killed for being raped!---by their own family!

You know there's going to be guys out there who are stupid and make comments about women in general. That doesn't bother me as much as someone personally disrespecting me because of my gender--which has only happened in early middle school and the kid probably gets it from his dad, which is a sad thing.

As far as why, though, because they don't see the loveliness that a woman is, they see her gentleness and love as a weakness instead of a strength and they don't understand how we can be so compassionate because they themselves don't possess those qualities and instead of seeing how amazing it is, they spit on it and think that because they are stronger and more forceful that they are better.

Even my husband before we were married told me he thought all girls were stupid until he met me, but that's just the impression he got from his father and the kind of girls his older brother went for were stupid S****y girls.



But still, not all men are sexist to such an extreme degree, sometimes they just have misconceptions because they don't know any better.

The world is a very large place.  Short answer-tetosterone and social conditioning.  However American women are doing what they can to reverse the balance of power.

This shouldn’t be a war against sexes; this should be a collaboration of humanity against the political machine that would have us fear speaking up about our grievances. This should be a plight for human rights; for every person that has been pushed down. Diversity is what they have out on the agenda to have us bicker over. While they continue to smoke their Cuban cigars and down their don perignon; as we continue to do all the work!

We've got to take back the ideal of justice, we've got to take back this principle of human dignity. We've got to take it back from vengeance; from hatred, we've got to say: look, we're all in this together. We are human beings. We deserve that much; no soul should miss out! Not in the 21st century.

It's the men and some women they don't want to see us succeed.

It's about power.  If we stop the privilege machine, then white men have to give up some of their inherent power.  It's totally natural to fight that, and to insist that you're privileged because of some biological superiority or whatever.

Of course it's not that simple because mostly it's subconscious.  People who are privileged don't always realize that, and think they have what they have through hard work.  So when someone comes along and says hey, if you were born dark skinned or without a p***s, you might not be a _____, they feel threatened.
