Why is too much sugar bad for parrots?

  2. Sugar is bad for everyone, it imbalances the chemicals in body, adult human manage to resist against toxics better than babies, and simple sensitive biological systems such as small birds can not take all this pressure.

    Plus, it is not only sugar, the same goes for salt, oil, chocolate, avocado (they can not digest avocado and it kill them fast).

  3. Because it's a refined product that has many drug-like responses.  

  4. Too much sugar is bad for mammals too.

    We try to provide the food a parrot would get in the wild - fruit, vegies and seeds.  There is no candy in the jungle or ice cream.

    Sugar is devoid of nutrition.  Feed nutritious food.
