  1. Beginning in 2003, amendments to the Craftsman Truck Series schedule brought about what has since become as certain as death and taxes, only not as dreaded: a set number of 25 races including one in particular on a Wednesday night at Bristol.

The Truck Series has raced 10 times at Bristol Motor Speedway. The first five events, 1995 through 1999, were held on Sunday. When it returned after a three-year absence, it became the first regularly scheduled midweek race in any of NASCAR's three national series.

  2. I think it's because Bristol is such a small track.  They need to get the truck teams in and out early, to make room for the Nationwide and Sprint teams.  It's amazing how many haulers they can fit inside that track.

  3. Its a little thing that the Truck Series has every year. No particular reason for it. In fact there is a debate article on http://NASCAR.com about NASCAR having more races of that nature.
