  1. The Title International has no true value to it. It usually means there is a customs office located at the airport. In Tulsas Case The title is well fitting.

  2. It is hard to believe but Tulsa airport at one time was one of the busiest airports in the USA. I think it was back in the 1920's or early 1930's when the oil fields were booming. Since then bigger airporst have grown in other cities and most international flights go to the bigger airports , but I believe Tulsa kept the title of "International".

  3. "International" airports can handle flights arriving from other countries, with customs and border control ability--even if they don't get much practice!  Keep in mind that even private jets arriving from Canada or Mexico are "international" flights and would need customs and border control.

  4. Because international planes fly into it.

  5. It means it meets the IATA international standard eventhough it has no International flights that I know of.
