I am talking about tunnel vision when it comes to politics or religion. Is it dangerous to be a republican or democratic with tunnel vision when it comes to one's party; or is it dangerous for a Christian or Muslim to have tunnel vision in the matter of religion? What think ye?

  1. Staying on the straight and narrow is never dangerous, when you began looking side to side so to speak, you began to loose focus.

  2. Tunnel or blinkered vision obscures and blinds man to other factors at play. Thus disadvantaged he is unable to reach a factual decision without al information to hand.

Remaining focuses without distraction enable man to gain understanding without impediments obstructing his path. Disregard of the held reason and views of others creates partial understanding and incomplete statements.

  3. yes. it is dangerous. its like looking at the horizon and not trying to know what lies beyond it.Ü

  4. doesn't matter what it relates to you can still get slapped on the side of the face by something you really should have seen coming

  5. When I first saw the question, I was thinking "how is tunnel vision NOT dangerous?"

But tunnel vision in politics and religion suggests a single-mindedness with no regard towards other options.

Tunnel vision in politics is known as partisanship.  No matter what, your party is right and the other is wrong, with no regard to whether or not the other party gave a better idea.

Being single-minded in religion suggests that you are literally willing to die to make your religion the superior entity.
