Why is twenty20 disliked by some purists?

they see t20 as a platform for crude hitting rather than elegant stroke play.so they nicknamed t20 "The Bashes".t20 is not at all that easy ,players really have to break their back. giving it such a hellish name does not make any sense. i don't mind tests and ODI's though.

  1. i must admit i agree with Ange (again, thats at least the 2nd time today). i dont mind watching T20, but tests have always been the ultimate to me, i mean as a boy growing up, i would never have dreamed of playing T20 cricket, i always dreamed (and ultimately failed, by a long way! LOL) of playing test cricket, cos that was where only the very best got to play and to play test cricket reflected how good at cricket you were.

also to my mind T20 has alot more luck involved, whereas Test cricket is primarily about skill

  2. I must admit, when I first saw Twenty20 cricket, I thought to myself "What the h**l?". It seemed like a bit of a hit-and-giggle game, designed for people uninterested, or for young children.

However, I now thoroughly enjoy Twenty20. I prefer it to the longer form of the shortened game, although Test matches are still the ultimate.

I think it has improved standards: fielding is better, and bowlers and batsmaen are realising that every ball is crucial, so are thinking about their game more.

  3. u r right 20 20 is not about smashing and it is not easy as it looks

  4. I don't like the idea of what it might do to cricket as a whole. Just imagine a cricketing world without tests?

  5. T20 is not real cricket

  6. I have no problem with T20 its a good idea but i dont think the IPL is the way to go it has become quite boring for me. perhaps more international games and less sassy dancing festival game bullshit

  7. I don't completely dislike 20/20 cricket.

I think it is fine to have a 20/20 match here and there, but why try to replace the pure cricket of a test match with  a match that is over with in 4 hours?....

What i don't like is these 20/20 tournaments..

  8. because theydon`t like cricket

  9. One of the reasons why people abroad, ie, countries like england, australia, new zealand, ect... countries that understand the game better, find the IPL a bit boring, well actually really boring because its mostly slog, and plus you are only allowed 4 internayional players, which mean you have about 4-5 crappy indian domestic players, ive only seen manpreet gony as a real prospect for indian cricket, they should have at least 6 international players. Moreover classy batsmen like sachin, dravid, ganguly, ponting, kallis, laxman, sanagkara ect... are either injured, gone home or aint doing very well, plus there are lower and lower scores, and teh games aint very close. plus its not international so what are they playing for. its all money, and so its boring
