Why is uncle's hair red?

so I have this uncle and he has the reddest hair you will ever see it looks like fire why is this hair like that he is dominican and it natural and he had it since he was a kid I know cuase I seen a pic of him when he was a kid

He probly has this color hair because his parents used to have it or hr died it!!

It may be a dominant recessive trait. A throw back in the family gene pool. A gene lays dormant and may reappear generations later. It is usually every second generation.
