Why is using energy considered wasteful?

It's not using it that is wasteful, it is using more than necessary that is. If you leave a room, turn out the light- you're not using it. If you aren't in your car, turn it off- leaving it run isn't getting you anywhere. Not wasting energy makes biological sense. Think of when you are sick. I know when I'm not feeling well, I'm extremely tired, to the point where I don't want to do any unneccessary moving and sometimes don't even go to work. My body is using most of it's energy to fight off the illness, and using it on something stupid like going to the bar with my friends could make the situation even worse.

Everyone needs some sort of energy to live: food energy, heat energy, etc., so using it isn't wasteful, it's necessary. People don't take into account that there is a threshold, and once consumption gets to the point where not enough energy to go around, people have to change their habits, or fail to prosper.

That stands to reason since we are the most dependent on it. Most of the countries you mention are not industrialized nations and some still live in huts with no electricity. Compare us to European countries or Canada if you want a truer comparison, I'm not ready to go back to the stone age to save some gas, I would rather come up with an alternate fuel source or mode of transportation.

I think it's obvious that your statement does not hold to any scruitiny. "Why is using energy considered wasteful?"   who says this?   no one i know other than lazy pps.

Now let's ask the real question   "Why are Americans so wasteful with energy?"

Oh yes you are: oversized cars, wasteful with food, poor energy efficiency in your homes, industry, i could go on.  

Why? because you are the toddlers of the world given a toy and let play without real realisation of the consequences.
