  1. Did you mean "A state specifically for mormons"?, or a "Mormon State of Mind"?

After s******g up the residents in Missouri by unscrupulous land dealings, exclusive economics (Excluding non-mormons to their financial ruin), the mormons ran away to Utah territory were they could practice their religious intolerance in relative peace.

Unless you were in a non-lds wagon train from Arkansas going thru southern Utah in 1857. Then the "Mormon State of Mind" took over and the travelers were assassinated.

Good mormons don't like talking about this either.

  2. About 50% of the state is Mormon.

The Mormons were driven out of Illinois and finally established themselves in Utah because they could live their lives in peace without people burning their buildings, raping their women, and killing them legally.

Early on, Mormons throughout the world were encouraged to move to Utah.  Mormons came from all over the world to live there.

The percentage of Mormons in Utah continues to slide down as other people move to Utah.

  3. Because that's who originally settled it and built it into what it is today.  Church headquarters is there.

  4. Easy...Brigham Young and the first band of Mormon pioneers came to the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847 after being chased out of Illinois. Over the next 22 years, more than 70,000 pioneers crossed the plains and settled in Utah.  "Mormons" essentially established the state and later joined the U.S.  The church established its headquarters in Utah and it remains the headquarters today.  Numbers vary as to the % of Mormons in the state, but Salt Lake City is probably around 50% or less.  I'd check out Wikipedia.
