  1. Lotus, I wish I could give you two stars. :)

    Violence toward pregnant women is abhorrant, on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin...

    I don't "do god," but if she's carrying the child with intent to give birth, and some ****** commits violence toward her causing her to lose the child, that's the closest thing to an "affront to god" as I can imagine...

  2. because she is pregnant.. Children= the adults of tomorrow.. Generally species preservation... That is why in some jurisdictions mothers who drink, do drugs and if the child is born messed up are prosecuted .

    It is amusing how feminist turn this around so quickly into a general male bash hate rant.

       Even though violence against pregnant women happens it is no where as prevalent as femnazi's would have you believe.

      It is just man haters and the feminist media blow it way out of proportion.

         But I suppose if you repeat a lie a million times a million idiots will believe it..

          We live in a feminist society, the only way feminist's can retain control is to make society think how evil men are and how vulnerable and abused women are. They doctor statistics and even when those statistics are proven to be lie's they still continue to use them.

    Look at how a fundamentally  social philosophical question has given feminist's in there minds free reign to bash,insult and demonize males.

  3. I think there are some things that are just verboten or taboo in every culture.  I think a newborn child is probably an archetypal representation of innocence that is common to us all.  As a global culture we turn away from it, mark it as "too much" to consider harming that newborn child--people who harm children occupy the lowest rung on humanity's ladder, justifiably so.  Also images of pregnant women can represent some archetypes--the virgin mother/religious connotation/universal symbol of mother--we automatically want to protect our mother.  All cultures have a version of "Honor thy Mother and thy Father".  Interesting question. A star for you!

  4. Re: Lotus -->

    yea, in that respect of 'gatekeeping' (and only that respect) Females  have the inalienable right to make decision over pregnancy and birth processes ---> Provided men dont selfishly steal those rights away,,,, which is too often the case...meet the stale antiquated Republicans of the world for instance (conservatives with a capital "C").

    ======================================...

    As for religious doctrines,,,and 'indoctrination' ----> traditionally, 'male' gods (who made them god???) have been used to twist gender rights in all sorts of harmful directions, including the 'right to haphazardly violate females' (ie, "rule of thumb" or various misogynist patriarchal literature such as the Holy bible and other scripts..)

    In other words, pregnant womyn are generally in a much more vulnerable state (often economically as well as in terms of health)

    Yet, girls and womyn in general are much more victimized by male bodies (groups/individual) AND ALL VIOLENCE TOWARD WOMYN IS

    UNACCEPATABLE. At least in a feminist world...its still very often acceptable and misunderstood because we live in a masculinist-value/male superiority world, whether people are still in denial about it or not.

    And i dont think a pregnant womyn, as with kids or seniors are necessarily "delicate", but rather denied a safe place in a world which should/ought to be truly diverse and values >>> everyone's strength <<< or contributions in one way or another.

    Thats my  comment for today!

  5. Pregnant women are more often murdered than non-pregnant women, most likely because men want to avoid responsibility. They don't want their masturbatory devices collecting child support.

    If you're asking why people find violence against a pregnant woman more appalling than violence against non-women and non-pregnant women, the answer is that sane people recognize the value of the life that pregnant women has decided to carry and birth.

    Women are the gatekeepers. We say who comes into this world and who does not. When a women decides to carry a pregnancy to term, she has bestowed her personhood onto her unborn child.

    This in no way negates a woman's ability to terminate her pregnancy. Since women are uniquely able to carry and birth babies, women ALONE get to decide when and with whom they will procreate. Without coercion or force, this is the natural order of things.

    If this is a problem for you, I suggest you take it up with your supposedly male "god." It is strange indeed that a male god would give so much power to the female half of a species. Hmmmm?

  6. Well, let's see. There's a very fragile organism living inside the mother, and if she's beaten bad enough it could cause a miscarriage, meaning the baby will die.

  7. Because there are 2 involved in this one and the weekest one is so innocent it hurts. Putting a pregnant women through stress and trauma can cause a miscarrage and death of a child.

  8. sad that you don't even know the answer to this. Seriously, think about it--the child inside of her needs HER in order to live until it's born. And thereby when he abuses her, he risks the life of her baby. That's child abuse and/or murder.

  9. If violence is directed toward a pregnant woman and she loses the baby, it has affected the mother, baby and the father of the baby.

  10. Why do ya think? HELLO, she has a baby in her. She is weaker physically, emotionally stronger, and you are hurting the two of them. Seriously, common sense.

    edit: lotus, I must agree 100%. Think about it. When the woman has that baby, she could do anything. It's in the woman's care completely before entering the world and she can terminate it or bring it to birth (which hopefully she does). We are the gatekeepers. Honestly, if there really was a male God who thought less of women and meant everything It said in the Bible, I'd have to kick It in Its balls! lol Anyway, yeah that's the truth.

  11. Anthropologically, the answer is because early humans learned in their skirmishes with neighboring rival groups that there was power in numbers.  They did not value the female's life any more than the male's but the female carrying a child was extra-protected because they recognized the future benefits of increasing their population.  In matters of social consciousness, the answer is because we rise into the awareness that there is socially beneficial grace in protecting the delicate components of our societies, including children, artists, pregnant women and the elderly.

  12. Not only are you hurting a woman, you are hurting her fetus as well.

    Child abuse.
