Question:

Why is volunteer work so expensive?

I've always had a want to travel and also recently i've felt i should "give something back" from all the privledges i've had growing up. I searched online to find out information about volenteering abroad (i was looking at Africa) but the main issue is it cost about £1k - £2k for less than a month, plus flights. I dont have the sort of money to put aside £2k for less than a month. Is there any volunteering I can do that either cost less or are for longer so I can do more than turn up and leave without making an impact?

Thanks

  1. Try finding some agencies that are doing humanitarian work in places you are interested in helping and contact them. They may offset your cost of transport etc.,or absorb it for a set term of conditions.Maybe do something in an area that costs less.Much luck, and peace.

  2. it always depends where you doing the volunteer work and i am doing it this summer but not paying nothing..
