Why is waiting for a train so boring?

I really find waiting for a train so boring, epecially when you've just missed it by a split second and then you know you have a big boring 40 minutes wait. I think they should install some tv screens at stations or run more trains. I mean they earn enough money from the public don't they?

  1. NEXT TIME DON'T BE LATE

THEY CAN NOT WAIT FOR YOU

  2. because your waiting and you have nothing to do...psp is a must on your xmas list

  3. Try leaving for the station sooner.. its a simple process...

  4. i guess ur referring to the national or surface trians.

  5. Buy your own train and you can run it whenever you like

  6. i think waiting for a train is boring because it becomes part of the day in day out routine. having to wait for a train subconsciously makes you ponder and live this mundane reality over and over again. i recommend the small things in life.  in winter try turning up to the train station in your pyjamas and get a kick out of people's reactions. in summer i recommend a mere leaf (or leaves if you are female) to cover your rude bits and nothing else.  when the novelty of this starts to wear off, and people become used to your bizarre attire, try something else.  for example one that i always get a kick out of is going up to complete strangers who are roughly old enough to be my parents.  play the scenario that you were adopted at birth and that your foster parents showed you a picture of your parents and that this stranger must be your long lost mother or father.  its always good if you are successful in convincing them that they are and they give you some money to go away.  finally and an oldie but a goody is playing platform pancake.  lie as flat as you can on the ground. be careful not move.  as people becoming increasingly curious they will be drawn to you live a pin to a magnet. eventually you will start to have a group of people looming over you. pick your moment, start speaking in tongues and levitating off of he ground. it works for me and its fun.

  7. Thats ok they are increasing fares again next year by 5%! Disgusting

  8. It is boring, there is nothing to do.  It would be nice if they installed TV screens, but they'd probably get vandalised.

You could try going for a short walk, or looking round the shops I suppose, or invest in a book to read.

Running more trains is not always practicable, because of the constraints of the signalling system, particularly approaching major junctions and stations.

  9. i think cause you are slightly annoyed that you just missed one train then you got to sit waiting another 40 Min's for  the next when you could have been 40 Min's into your journey, some of the bigger stations like London, Newcastle and york do have pubs in the station where there are some TVs usually showing Sky Sports or News.If not invest in a paper or book

  10. I tend to make the time pass by people watching and making up stories about the more interesting people.

  11. why not bring a book to read or listen to music while waiting. Or you could talk/chat to your friends on your phone. Or just daydream. Or just try getting a timetable of the train so you don't miss it and can just arrive 5-10 mins earlier before it arrives or go to shops in the station.

  12. Well you could always make a game of it... count how many pidgeons land on the tracks in 10 minutes, then try to break that record! :D

  13. It's sad to see how the youth of today have no grit.

  14. just as boring waiting for a bus. some stops had what you suggested but the got vandalised. some buses have TVs in them. when i asked the driver why, he said it kept the animals quiet. instead the tried to steal them. buy a good book to read while you wait.
