Why is wal*mart called "wally world"?

Why is wal*mart called "wally world"?

I think it's a throwback from one of the Vacation movies with Chevy Chase.

They went to this giant theme park called Wally World. Since so many people flock to Walmart, almost for entertainment in some places, it might have something to do with that. Plus the name kind of lends itself to getting it as a nickname...both start in Wal-.

Don't know... but I call it that too?  Probably just because it is more fun to say -or- because it is always a flippin' circus at Wal-mart...
