  2. solar eclipse time, the altra violet rays releases, its very horm to eye sight, If we seen directly to the sun, the rays will damages the our eye sight, hence don't see the solar eclipse with naked eye,

  3. It is an excitement coupled with fear and superstition for many in India prior to the solar eclipse on August 1.

Despite a well known scientific phenomenon behind the solar eclipse, people have not been able to do away with the superstitious beliefs related to the celestial activity.

"There are several false beliefs prevalent in our society regarding solar eclipse. Some people even lock themselves in their homes to avoid 'the bad rays' from the eclipse," Nehru Planetarium Director N. Rathnashree said.

Many also take dip in holy rivers to cleanse themselves after the eclipse.

There are others who believe that pregnant women should refrain from cutting and sewing during the eclipse as it can lead to deformities in the unborn child.

  4. so many of the answers..one is here! Chaavi its impossible to look at the Sun even in normal times as just a few  seconds sight can make one blind. Not to talk about watching the Sun with naked eyes during eclipse when it emits very harmful rays like ULTRAVOILET RAYS and also high intensity rays that can lead to permanent pupil damage or at least injury to the retina where the image in the eye is formed.Even try avoiding look at the light as harm can be done by reflections too.

moving under the Sun during this time too should be avioded so as to protect ur  sensitive skin from uv rays .

  5. ULTRA VIOLET rays r always released frm sun. dont give fool answers please. answer only when u know. as some part is covered and we continuosly watch sun they r passed in more concentrated one so they can damage our retina and may loose eyesight

  6. due to excessive Ultra Violet rays generating at dat moment

  7. u can become blind!!!

  8. donot see anybody privatelife

  9. You can not watch with naked eye? You will loose a good sight you have.THERE WILL BE A SCAR IN EITHER EYES DUE TO BURN?

  10. There isn't anything particularly dangerous about an eclipse it is just because it is bad for your eyes to look directly at the sun. A quick glimpse like you can do during normal sunshine is ok, but if you stare at it in fascination it can burn your retina and do permanent damage.

  11. The amount of light coming from the sun can overload and burn out the optic nerve. It exceeds the ability of the iris to limit it. That's why you do not want to look directly into the sun. Use a filter of some sort or focus the image onto a piece of paper. That way enough ligt is filetered out that you can see the elcipse without damage to the eye.

  12. The sun emits a whole spectrum of electromagnetic rays which includes visible light. During a normal day, you never dare to look straight at the sun because of the high intensity visible light. But during a solar eclipse, the sun is partially/fully covered by moon's shadow so that it is not difficult for us to look straight at the sun. But the sun emits radiations of all other wavelengths, like ultraviolet, x-ray etc which will be hitting our eyes and may cause damage to them. So never look at the sun straight with naked eye during an eclipse.

  13. coz the heat and light that the sun produces is too high and if we watch solar eclipse with naked eyes for aa long time it can result in a very serious problem - it can damage our eyes and finally we could even be blind.

    SO

    STAY

    AWAY

  14. The sight of Solar Eclipse is astonishing and hard to be missed, but people should take extra precautions as the sun rays could lead to serious complications in the eyes.

Watching the sun for a few seconds could cause solar poisoning that leads to permanent damages in the sight and in simple cases could affect the eye's ability to recognise colour.

The sun is about 100,000 times too bright to look at, and on any given day, if people were to stare at the sun long enough, they would go blind. This rarely happens because our eyes have an instinctive aversion response that makes us look away. But there is no pain sensor to know when our vision is being burned. As the solar eclipse progresses and the moon's shadow takes an increasingly larger bite out of our view of the sun, it only becomes about 1,000 times too bright to look at.

Even when the sun is 1 percent away from a total eclipse, there is still a danger of being blinded. That's why anyone who wants to see a partial eclipse has to wear special solar viewing sunglasses.

  15. The same reason you shouldn't stare at the sun any other time.  UV rays are bad for your eyes and you don't get less just because its an eclipse.

Since you are no longer being blinded by the sunlight people could look even longer with feeling like they are hurting their eyes.  In fact they are doing just as much damage as they would any other time.

  16. ultra-violet rays which are dangerous and our eyes can't stand a really bright light

  17. The sun will be extra extra bright..so it's 222222222222222 big a wavelenth of lite for our eyes to perceive...tht's y!
