  1. I'm not sure, but rumors have it that the first reason is that the government hasn't done any scientific testings to see the effects of Marijuana. They do not know the long term and short term effects as well as the negative and positive effects.

The second reason: The Government hasn't been able to figure out how to put taxes on the marijuana, because people can grow it themselves... Sort of like moonshine...people made it themselves and Government couldn't tax it so they made it illegal instead.

I'm really not positive if these are the real reasons, but these are the rumors. I have no evidence backing this up because I haven't done much research.

  2. Because alcohol is more socially acceptable while "weed" is not.

This doesn't mean I'm against it. I'll all for legalizing it and taxing the h**l out of it.  But I don't think it would ever pass legislation with the current attitude people have about marijuana.

  3. Propaganda

  4. Well, it could have to do with religion. In the bible, it says that you can drink wine. The Church says you may drink alcohol, but not get drunk. The Church also forbids use of recreation drugs, doing so is sinning.

  5. You ask for logic in politics? Try to be a little bit realistic.
