  1. because when the train leaves cleveland at 4:03

and another train l;eaves new york at 4:32

    they will meet

  2. You not jumping high enough... make sure your on a flat car..about a 100 feet should do it... dont try this at home..lol

  3. Its all about momentum. You are going the same speed as the train is and when you jump the momentum keeps you from going backwards.

  4. That's all about the momentum. When you are in train, and it's moving, your are moving at the same speed of the train, (otherwise you would feel movement against the stuff in the train, doors, seats, etc). Therefore, when you jump in the train while moving, you go up and come back down because of gravity, but keep moving in the direction of the train.

But if you jump and train enters a sharp curve (which rarely happens), or train brakes so harsh (which can occur anytime), you don't come down in the same place. So you'd better to stand tight.

  5. You are traveling the same speed as the train.  You have no resistance such as wind to slow your motion.  When you jump up you cannot stay in the air long enough to slow yourself down to a speed slower than the train is moving.  OK, is this enough to answer the question?  Have Fun!

  6. That is science! Newton's Law of Motion like 3rd grade science but other things are more important!

  7. scientifically, its due 2 inertia.

  8. That is because you are going at the same speed as the train based on Newton's laws of motion.

  9. because when you are IN the train, you are going with the speed of the train and at the same momentum as the train.

  10. because of moment of inertia

  11. Hi Dude,

In Physics, we have a laws for motion. According to those u wont fall backward when u jump in a running train. Because ur body wil be moving with the same pace of the train but u cant feel it due to the earths gravitational force.

Check this - u r in a car going at 60kmph and suddenly the driver applies brakes and which way do u fall initially??

Forward right, this is 'coz ur body was moving along with the car at 60kmph but when brakes were applied only car slowed and later u slowed and fel back on ur seat .

    I hope I am clear.

If this is not clear ping me on +919440935846 to learn more.

    Cheers,

    Rufus

  12. b/c you are already moving as fast as the train. An object in motion will stay in motion.

But if the train accelerates or decelerates while you are in the air, then you will move back or foward on the train, until you land. But it won't be a dramatic move.

  13. you do go backwards or slow down. Relativley its hard to meaasure.

Think of the jet plane, that climbs and dives to simulate neer zero gravity. That plane can creat much more accelration and deceleration than you train question. Yet both are the same.
