  1. People don't like change, plus some software wasn't ready for it. Everybody I know who has it and have got used to it seem to think it's OK. On some older PCs it can be system hungry.

  2. Software incompatibility, hardware incompatibility, driver incompatibility, resource hog!!!, annoying security popups, more security exploits, lack of optimization.

Microsoft failed and people are letting them get away with it.

  3. i just got windows vistaaa & i absolutelyy love it :)

  4. I have it & me and my mates love it! Its great!!

  5. If an older computer is upgraded to Vista, there are often problems with incompatible hardware/drivers or incompatible software. Also, it runs slower than XP on the same hardware.

On the other hand, if you buy a new computer with Vista preinstalled, you should not have hardware incompatibility issues; in fact, some newer hardware does not have XP-compatible drivers, making it impractical to downgrade to XP.

  6. To be honest I'm not sure I have Vista Home Premium and it's fine.

  7. Because it sucks so much, Windows in general are bad operating systems.

Today there are have processors that can process 5,000,000,000 billion instructions in a single second yet it takes my Windows Vista 2.6GHz Dual Core Processor, 3GB of DDR2 RAM and SATA 1TB HD computer 5 minutes to completely start up.

Same PC, using Ubuntu, 16 seconds.

So don't anyone answer this question with stupid comments like "People hate it for the simple reason they are installing it on older computers that cannot handle the Vista programe", what idiot would say something like this!

  8. I don't hate it but I see absolutely no reason for my personal use to upgrade to it.

Windows 3.11 to Windows 95 to Windows 98 to Windows NT to Windows 2000 to Windows XP all offered features and stability jumps for me which made it worth my while upgrading. I've yet to find anything with Vista that would make me want to upgrade, and I use XP professionally.

  9. I have had Vista since march with no problems. It's a very nice operating system when you get used to it's new features. And no matter what it is there will always be people who like to p**s and moan about things.

  10. It's very resource hungry - you need a decent CPU, lots of disk space and oodles of RAM for it to run at all well. It's all flash and no real substance.

MS are kicking out a new 'lighter' version soon as there has been lots of negative feedback and poor sales, even through OEM channels. Businesses haven't picked it up either.

So if you have a superfast PC then go for it, but might be better to wait - there aren't that many 'vista-only' apps out there.

  11. i got vista i have had few temp problems nothing major i love it much nicer n smoother than xp

its still new so companies are still getting used to it n diagnoising problems n so forth it was the same as xp wen that 1st came out it was hard work to start with but everyone has it now in time vista will be top

only really problems i have had is with compatability with other hardware products like mp3 players n ipods but that was wen it 1st came out no probs now

  12. it's great if your pc has enough memory to run it! i love it

  13. People hate it for the simple reason they are installing it on older computers that cannot handle the Vista programe. I have Vista Home Premium and it works fine, but i am running it on a Quad/Duo computer and that,s what Vista is geared  up for.  So before you blame Vista , look at your computer specifications and see if it can run the programe.
