  1. They have to pay more taxes to goverment and you have the comfort to sit around in a a/c while you have your wine with a waiter at your disposal. These luxury will never come for cheap

  2. If you go to a restaurant and buy a steak, does it cost you more than if you buy at a supermarket????????? it's the same thing kind of.

  3. restaurant has to creat a good impression on their rich costomers so they make the wine expensive so the poor people don't come their and creat a big nuicence and so the hotel become a 5 star  hotel............................ for the rich only.

  4. Because you are paying for the restaurant operation itself.  The staff, the restaurant building itself, the product, and they have a markup that is 2/3 that of the price.  That is if the bottle of wine cost them $7.00, they would sell it at $21.00.  A retail store does not have the same overhead as a restaurant, but they too have a markup.
