I don't understand why so many people think that women's tennis is on a decline. If anything, it's getting more competitive. In men's tennis, you have the top 3 and that's pretty much anyone talks about. In women's tennis, not only is there is the top 7 who dominate, but the top 20 includes many young players who are on the rise ensuring much more great tennis for years to come. However, I do like to watch men's tennis more because it's much more exciting. But, with that said, I will only watch certain players like Nadal, Djokovic, Blake. I don't know, I am a fan of both men and women's tennis, but I would rather watch the top women play than two nobody's.

what the h**l is the difference? That is a ridiculous comment. Men's tennis is less competitive than Women's right now. Of course you have Nadal, Federer and Djokovic at the top. I won't even include Ferrer or Davydenko because they can barely get to the Quarters in most of the majors. The ranked players are the ones who are pathetic. The qualifiers are the ones who comes in and embarrass them.

And for the first posting about you not like watching women hit from the baseline- you obviously don't watch tennis very often because the men actually do this as much as the women- if not more.

Tennis has turned into a power sport but it has begun to change back to your Sampras, Graf, etc days

the reason is because im a serve and volleyer so i do hate watching women hit balls from the baseline

I think that it actually depends on who you are watching.  Maybe you aren't catching the competitive ones.  You have to admit that some of the women can pack some heat, especially the Williams sisters, which are arguably the best.

I agree with you in general. Women's games are boring. That's why the rule is 3 sets only, for most of us will fall asleep. There are a few exceptions. The Williams sisters generate more intensity and varieties than others. Serena can be pretty explosive. Right now I'm watching their 1/4 final show down at Flushing Meadows. And quite amusing.   Monica Seles, and Justine Henin were exceptions too, IMO.

In general, men's tennis is much more dynamic to watch since they are usually more powerful, more consistent and there is more strategy involved. But there are several exceptions in the women's game (Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Justine Henin, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles). I think all of those players were very exciting and as entertaining to watch as the men. Did you watch that Serena vs. Venus match? That sh*t was entertaining! But most of the women don't play like that so it can get boring compared to the men's matches.
