  1. I watched WWF when I was around 3-4 in the Attitude Era where Austin was sticking his fingers up and DX were bad mouthing everyone and I was 4, WWE setting itself as a PG is ridicoulous, it's making the WWE lose fans, I've only just started watching WWE again after about 3 years.

  2. So far, you're ALL wrong.  It's all about Linda McMahon.  Completely 100%.  The PG rating was specifically created to benefit Linda McMahon's Senate election chances. The whole "Stand Up for WWE" campaign, and all the other 'wholesome' new elements we've been seeing over the past year and 1/2 is all simply in hopes of Linda getting votes in Connecticut.  Frankly, I think it's incredibly repulsive WWE would abandon nearly all of its older fanbase just to be so hideously self-serving to help Linda.

If Linda doesn't get her senate seat (which is still possible), expect the ratings to go back to what they used to be.  If she DOES win, it may be a very long time (if ever) that we see WWE as it once was.

Just to reiterate; This has nothing to do with being too violent in the past.  It's nothing to do with merchandise money.  This has nothing to do with kids even.  It's a much much bigger picture, but it all makes perfect sense knowing Vince.
