  1. Because ants consist formic acid in them. When they bite anyone they leave formic acid in the skin

  2. it injects irritants into your skin and you react by swelling

  3. I've nevr been biten.

  4. when ants bite you bacteria from the outside world are introduced into your body. The bodies second line of defense is fever (first being skin and last being white blood cells). Being that the skin is broken the cells release signals to heat up the area. The heat hopefully kills the bacteria. The red swelling is just your cells heating up. And pus is the "chewed up" remains of bacteria that phagocytes (a certain type of white blood cell) release when they explode (after "eating" to many bacteria).

  5. when an ant or termite bite ,it will panetrate formic acid inside the skin

which create irretation.to overcome this acid humanbody naturally dilute it by water and affected area get swollen.

  6. becuse they suck your skin stuff and its all dry >.>

  7. the saliva causes mast cells in your blood to degranulate causing a hypersensitivity reaction - swelling.  hope this helps.

  8. Cause your special.

  9. The ants saliva has mild irritants that make the skin swell.

  10. bcause it is soft

  11. Hi, the reason is this, when ants bite you, they inject chemicals (formic acid) into your skin, and furthermore, when they bite, they make a small cut with their mandibles (jaw), which punctures your skin. That small wound introduces bacteria and other pathogens into your skin, which may cause an infection. The formic acid injected into your skin causes a allergic reaction, as the body is trying to neutralize the poison. That is why when you have an ant bite, by applying a mild alkali (i.e dilute ammonia or baking soda) you can relieve the pain and swelling of the bite, as the alkaline solution reacts with the formic acid to neutralise it.
