I have GeForce 8600GT and a big TV. Its not LCD or Plasma though. Just the old type. I use SVideo to attach my Computer to the TV. It worked but the resolution was soooo small and things were abit blur. How do I fix this ? I can only set the resolution up to 1024 X 768. But it made things look so much smaller. Please help me anyone!

  1. i usally dose make the resolution smaller it usally stretches...

  2. S-Video is your problem. S-Video is a low resolution connection. It worked great for VCRs, but in an HD world it's practically useless. Best to worst connections: DVI or HDMI (same thing, different plug), VGA, Component.

But It doesn't matter how big your TV is; only the resolution matters. If it's not a HD TV you're going to get only 640X480 no matter how it's connected. Even some HD TVs still only support 720 or 768 vertically which, in my opinion, looks best on about a 12" laptop screen. Newer 1080p screens will support slightly higher (1080 vertical, doy) but that's still pretty low resolution when compared to a computer monitor.

  3. What is the maximum resolution your TV can support? You'll need to check the manual for this information. If it isn't LCD or plasma then it usually isn't very high and it will be blurry.

For a better picture use a large LCD TV (32"+) that can support high resolutions.

  4. Ok, the size of the tv has absolutly nothing to do with the resolution of the tv.   A standard definition tv(any tv that is not a hdtv really) has a fixed aspect ratio of 704x480.   In fact, the bigger your tv is, the worse it will look since its increasing the size of each pixel.  When you output to the tv, your resolution automatically downgrades to that.  Unfortunatly there isnt really much you can do about this.  ITs fixed into the tv, and you can't change it.  The newer range of hdtv's have higher resolutions(though they are much lower then a monitor's resolution).  For a 720p tv you have 1280x720, and for a 1080p you have 1920x1080.
