  1. Because that is not how the country was structured by the constitution. The US is a representative republic.

  3. last time i looked the us was preparing for an election this year.

    bear in mind that you vote in the people who are in power so that they can make decisions.

    so if you have anyone to blame, blame yourself if you voted for bush. it is the same in the uk, france and germany etc.

  4. Because it's a republic. Which is a democratic TYPE of government, but a true democracy would involve all of us voting for laws and such, instead of our reps and senators doing it for us.
