Why isn't Andy Roddick playing in Cincinnati?

  1. After watching Safina beat Pennetta in the EastWest Bank Classic (not the world's best), now I'm going to have to go to the Countrywide classic knowing that the only top player (Roddick) won't be there either! ARRGH!

  4. He just announced (during the warm-ups of his match against Kohlschreiber) that he had a shoulder injury. He explained that he woke up this morning with some pain in his shoulder, and that he was having trouble turning his head right and left. He said he tried to fight through it because he really wanted to play in Cincinnati because it was one of his favorite tournaments, but in the warm-ups he was having too much trouble so he had to withdraw.
