  1. because its australian rules. no uk rules. i think australians are trying to bring it over though

  2. 'cause no-one can understand the rules......  oh wait a minute, there aren't any!

  3. its the most silliest game ever

  4. seriously Australian footy is great i love it and if you think it is a soft game you have obviously never played it but I'm a lover of most sports such as rugby league union cricket soccer but footy is my favourite yeah i think you have to grow up with it to truly appreciate it and the UK has its sports they love and footy is truly Australian and will stay that way for a very long time and maybe it should stay that way but that's great you think its exciting because your right it is. and the Alf ain't promoting it properly

  5. Im going to be blunt but its c**p. Its like rugby with no skill. Remember when you were a kid and you would try to play rugby and everyone would run at the ball. And just throw it up in the air when they were going to get tackled. It takes fitness undoubtedly but it really is a c**p version of rugby.

  6. i watch it sometimes on tv but i think the stadium sizes needed , just for pitch size alone , is too big for our cities that already have football, rugby and cricket.  and also we have rugby union and league. we tried american football in the 90's and it flopped, so would this i think

  7. Because it's a $hit sport.

It isn't even popular in half of this country (Australia).

And the only people who do like were brought up on it, and so have never really played anything else.

It's good for a novelty, but it isn't a good sport.

You get a point for MISSING the goals, thats just cr@p.

  8. Because it's Australian. Nearest equivalent in the north is Gaelic Football in Ireland - nuff said.

  9. it will always be a Aussie sport and will never catch on a bit like soccer will never take in Australia and baseball is hugh in the USA but nowhere else

that's why they have pay TV and so on

  10. it is, its called rugby

  11. i prefer rugby league

  12. It's never publicised, so nobody notices it.

  13. there is a lot of people who work hard to promote this sport not only in UK but in  europe in generale. That's hard to developpe because there is allready rugby and soccer in europe, and that we have to cahnge a few rules, like the size of the stadium and the number of players, and the AFL don't give a **** about us.

  14. It's huge in the g*y bars in Brighton.

  15. 16. because the english are too bloody soft for the game

  17. they are topsy turvy

  18. brilliant game, you do need to get into it before you start to really enjoy it.

  19. wow the people answering with because its **** obviously have no lives, typing a quick unwitty answer like that has bagged you two points well done f...wits!

As stated about soccer here AFL and Rugby are just too dominant, but over time things can change, as is with the sport in (afl) the uk, the only problem with afl being adopted in britain is there isnt any afl world cups to promote the game, its amazing the influence of the australians in the world cup is having on junior soccer here. Still having said that there are us canadian british irish kiwi and japanese (if there are more countries im not aware of them) that visit australia annually for an international tornament. Still not quite on the scale of a world cup!!!

Aussie rules is an awsome game for those who have commented negitively on the skill level grab an afl ball run and bounce it, while running kick it and hit someone else who is running on the chest 50metres away see how you go... then comment, oh if ur athletic enough try and jump high enough to catch an incoming ball on someone elses shoulders!

  20. unique australian game that only appeals to xpats
